The
Norwich Fire Department (located at 31 East Main Street) has a fine complement of firefighters, serving the
residents of the City of Norwich and the surrounding area. These highly trained
individuals are always ready to respond to emergencies of all kinds for the
City of Norwich, and to assist other local communities as the need arises.
The Norwich Fire Fighters Association (IAFF Local1404) and the Norwich Fire
Department also spend many hours educating the populace in fire and personal
safety.
The
department also maintains and provides an ALS (Advanced Life Support)
Ambulance, staffed by professionals for medical emergencies and ambulance
service to area residents. From open houses and blood pressure screenings,
to classroom education in area schools, everyone benefits from our member's
efforts.
